- encourage parent participation in school activities
- goal setting conferences – hopes to have impact on what teachers do in the classroom. Feedback – parents would like more feedback from the teacher, clearer curriculum expectations for the year, may be too early in the year for this type of discussion, goal was for increased parent participation.
- Parent seminars offered through the school, include well known authors in education & parenting topics – parents are welcome to browse books through the library.
- Library volunteers needed – 1:1 program – tutoring includes training, requires criminal record check. 3 hours / week – for children that need/want more reading practice. Also, any volunteers needed for shelving books, check in, check out, etc. Ask classroom teachers for further opportunities.
- Suggestions from teachers – “share your job with us”, talk about your job, equipment, book, etc. Classroom/community ethnic lunch; assist with science or art projects in classroom; silent reading time helper, courtyard development.
- Peer helpers for playground to encourage kids in games (hopscotch)
- Musicians needed for assemblies, special events, piano player for Christmas concert.
- Suggestion to have Christmas pagent earlier in Dec

- PAC (Caroline, Phalgun) have been working with school board, city of Vancouver.
- Opposition coming from Park board staff.
- MPCC to be demolished late 2007/08, so fundraising needs to happen now.
- $750,000 already earmarked for this project.
- Fundraising will be done by MPCC association along with the SFE PAC – one strategy to hire professional fundraiser. ** Need funds released from city to raise fundraising.
- Pool should be open until end of 2008.
- Need to decide on site (school board has final decision).
- Construction to begin on new building on school property.
- Discussion regarding dog run being moved.
- Dog run permission is granted by school board, may impact on future building site.
- Proposal to be on existing basketball court.*** Suggestion to have basket ball court relocated to parking lot area.
